Ten Years Later

We are introduced to the Hibari Kyouya of ten years in the future in the aptly named Future Arc. He is still the strongest mmeber of the Vongola Famiglia, and still running off doing his own thing as he sees fit - yet still showing up when he is needed the most. Tsuna is overwhelmingly happy to see him when he appears to save Gokudera and Yamamoto from Gamma. The Hibari of the future does not seem to have changed much, other than in his manners. I noticed as I was reading that his words were slightly kinder and more mature. He has also grown to see things from a larger perspective - the boy who once threw himself into fights blindly has become, oddly enough, the leader of the Namimori Research Institute tasked with gathering intelligence on the Millefore Famiglia and its members.

Despite these changes, TYL!Hibari is no less intimidating than he was ten years earlier. He still doesn't mind entering a battle blindly, and his Cloud flames are so overwhelmingly strong that the rings he uses to open his boxes break after one use - he must keep spares on him at all times. This is a problem the younger Hibari does not encounter because he has the Vongola ring, designed to withstand his incredible power. TYL!Hibari has become quite the strategist in the past ten years, and is revealed to have formed the plan to bring the Vongola's younger selves into the future with TYL!Reborn and TYL!Tsuna. He has also become more willing to participate in the activities of the Vongola Famiglia - training Tsuna and helping Chrome when her illusory organs begin to fail her.

He still has retained some of his old habits though, such as his hatred of crowds, shown when he comes to give Tsuna information he has collected and everyone piles into the room. He threatens to bite Tsuna to death if any more people crowd in, and then Tsuna is shown with a black eye and Hibari has left the room. Though TYL!Hibari did not have a lot of time in the Arc, it has given us as the fans a lot to look forward to - watching Hibari grow into that young man.
