Values

Hibari is not an incredibly complex person. Somehow, this is part of his charm. So it isn't that difficult to figure out what he holds valuable in his life. The first, and most obvious, is his pride for Namimori. Though he has a hard time associating the word "pride" with what he feels for his role as the "iron fist," it means far more to him than a simple obligation or idea would. As mentioned in the Namimori section of this website, he continues to defend and protect Namimori long after he has graduated from the school.

The second thing he values is strength, his own or someone else's. He has never said it in such words, but throughout the series he is always searching out fights. He is constantly on the lookout for strong people who don't just fall after one hit from him. He becomes intrigued by those who can stave off his attacks, and he becomes obsessed if anyone is capable of defeating him. He will always want to fight them until he is the victor, and is still seeking rematches.

And the third thing he values is his love for adorable animals. He doesn't seem to realize that he has such a trait, nor that it completely clashes with his image. (Though honestly, I don't care if he has a bird perched on top of his head, he is freakin' scary.) He absolutely loves Hibird and Roll, and is seen on several occasions calming Roll down or sending Hibird out of the way of battles. His love for them is apparent in the love they return to him, like when Roll got upset that he accidentally stabbed Hibari with one of his quills.
